Last month we suspected Alfa Romeo would be bringing a Mini Cooper JCW competitor to the Geneva Motor Show. Now the company has further confirmed our suspicion by releasing a couple sketches of the engine cover that will sit atop the mighty force-fed four-cylinder in the Mito GTA.
Alfa says the GTA will be the most powerful car in its segment. Rumor has it the turbocharged 1.75-liter will churn our as much as 240 horsepower. That kind of output would easily top the 208 ponies in the most potent Mini. The Mito GTA concept will officially debut in Geneva in March with a production version expected to follow up shortly thereafter. With Chrysler's latest plans to bring Alfas to the U.S. we've got our fingers crossed that the Mito GTA might just sail over with them.
